Local Agents

This application can be used for managing small location-based tasks. For example, you want to check whether the Leaning Tower of Pisa is still standing there. So you simply create a photo task, define its location on the map as city of Pisa. Local Agents will find a person near the place willing to do you this small favor - the picture is taken and you'll get it right on you Android device.

Installation

Local Agents runs on Android-based smartphones, and can be downloaded for free from Android Market.

Operation

Use Create Task to define a new task in certain place on the globe. Incoming shows a list of tasks found in your area waiting for you to accept them. Progress will show you the current status of your active tasks.

Privacy

By default the application will report you current location to the server - updates are generated when you move from place to place, and not more often than once in a hour. Alternatively you can define you location in Settings screen, so no real GPS data will be retrieved.

Notifications

Local Agents will periodically connect to the server and check for new tasks assigned to you. Once found, a notification icon will be shown in the Status Bar area. You can disable automatic notifications (in such case no request are made to the server automatically) or can request to receive updates by mail.

Support

This is the first version of the applications, please don't get angry if it doesn't work smoothly in all situations...
